Talia Bromstad holds a BFA from the University of Georgia (Athens, Georgia) with a concentration in printmaking and book arts. She currently lives in Birmingham, Alabama, where she works as a graphic designer. Her work has been featured in numerous group shows including Collections as Evidence of Now at Cleveland, Ohio's Zygote Press, and the 31st and the 32nd Bradley Interntional Print and Drawing Exhibition.

In addition to her art practice, Bromstad plays the accordion and the pedal steel guitar in two bands, Ice Cream Socialists and My Unborn Children. She has released an album with both bands. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and balcony gardening, cooking, doing crosswords, and playing with her cat, Stuart.

Born in America to Canadian parents, Bromstad, a dual citizen, identifies with the Canada goose, the iconic water fowl which twice yearly migrates between Canada and the United States. It is a recurring character in her work, symbolizing the ineffable and transient feeling of not completely belonging to one place or the other. The goose is also the namesake of the imprint under which Bromstad creates artist's books, Goose Down Press.
